What is plan confidence?

How complete this plan is: the share of the projection built on figures you gave rather than starting points. It is not the chance your plan works.

How complete this plan is, at the foot of the Overview, measures how much of your projection rests on figures you gave rather than on starting points. It is not a probability: 60% does not mean a 60% chance of the plan working. Whether the plan works is the verdict’s job, and the card says so in its own subtitle.

What it counts

FactorWeightAnswered when
Your ages and where you will be living20Your age, the age you stop working, the age your plan runs to and the country are all filled in.
What you spend, category by category30Spending sits in categorised rows rather than one combined figure.
What you have saved20Any asset row holds a figure.
What you earn10Any income row holds a figure — or you have already stopped working.
Which savings are your emergency buffer10You have answered the question on your cash row, or you hold no cash.
Whether each property is your home10Every property says whether it is the home you live in.

The score is the answered weights out of 100. Detailed is 80 or more, Taking shape 50 to 79, and Outline below 50 — a perfectly good place to be five minutes in.

What it deliberately leaves out

  • Loans and life goals — having none is a legitimate answer, so a debt-free plan is not marked incomplete.
  • The six economic assumptions — keeping Nivritee’s country defaults costs nothing here.
  • Whether a figure is sensible — that is what the spending bands and Action Items judge.

Your plan

How complete this plan is

70% Taking shape

Not a probability — that is what the outcome word answers. This is how much of the projection rests on figures you gave us rather than on a country default.

  • Your ages and where you will be living
  • What you spend, category by category
  • What you have saved
  • What you earn
  • Which savings are your emergency buffer
  • Whether each property is your home

The unanswered ones are the list of what would sharpen it.

The site’s drawing of the card, with an illustrative score: the percentage and its band word, the meter, and a list where ticked rows are answered and a plus marks one still open.

  • The score and its band.
  • The meter: the same number, as distance to the top.
  • Open rows are the list of what would sharpen the plan.

Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.
