What is plan health?

Plan health says how much of your plan is still unexamined — On track, Attention needed or At risk — based on the fixes and commitments still open. It is not your verdict.

Plan health is the band beside "What needs your attention" on the Action Items page, and in the Action items strip on the Overview. It reads one of three words — On track, Attention needed or At risk — with a sentence underneath that shows the count it was worked out from.

It answers a narrow question: how much of your plan is still guesswork? It does not read your projection at all. Whether your money lasts is a different question, and the outcome word at the top of the Overview — Critical through Ample — answers that one. A plan can be Ample and still read Attention needed here, because some of the figures behind that comfortable answer have not been checked yet.

What it counts

  • Open fixes and open commitments count against it, each weighted by how serious the item is.
  • Questions do not count at all. Leaving a "Tell us more" question unanswered never lowers your health — a question exists to sharpen the plan, and answering it to move a score would be the wrong reason.
  • Anything you have broken down, dismissed or committed to counts as dealt with, and the list shows how many at its foot.

Roughly: a single minor item still leaves you On track; one serious item moves you to Attention needed; three serious ones read At risk, at which point the sentence underneath says the figures should be read as a first draft.

What the sentence underneath says

Each sentence starts with the count, for example "2 things to fix".
BandThe sentence ends with
On track"Neither is urgent — this is refinement rather than repair."
Attention needed"Working through even one of these makes the numbers on your dashboard more honest."
At risk"Enough of your plan is still guesswork that the figures should be read as a first draft."

With nothing left open it reads: "Nothing is waiting on you. Your plan is as detailed as we can make it from here."

A rung has the money, but not in a form it could use₹30,00,000 of ₹30,00,000. The money is there, but only 90.3% of what this rung needs is in something it can actually use. Runway if income stops, so you never sell your investments at a loss to eat.
Nothing in your plan pays for healthcareMedical costs compound at your plan's medical inflation rate, the fastest of the three, and there is nothing here for them to compound.

Ranked by what is most obviously true, not by what moves the number most.

The household's Action Center: Plan health reads At risk over the two items at the top of its list.

  • The band word always travels with its colour, so the colour never carries the meaning alone.
