What goes in my notifications?

The bell holds invitations and approvals waiting on you, plus updates: sharing news, your partner's edits, what changed since your last visit, and one-time explanations.

The bell in the bar at the top of the app is Nivritee's notification centre. Press it to see the latest few; press All notifications at the foot, or choose All notifications in the account menu, for the whole list. What the bell shows stays in the app. Some sharing events, such as an invitation, also send a separate email — one that never carries a figure.

Two groups

On the All notifications page the second group is headed "Earlier".

Needs your answerAn invitation to view somebody's plan or to plan together, and a request for your approval to share the plan you hold with your partner, or to let somebody see more of it.
UpdatesEverything else: an invitation accepted, declined or expired, access you were given changing or ending, an approval given or refused, a plan being separated, your partner's changes, what changed since your last visit, and one-time explanations of something we changed.

The number on the bell counts only what needs your answer, so a number always means a person is waiting on you. Unread updates show a small dot instead — no number. Opening the bell marks updates as read; something waiting for your answer stays marked until you answer it.

  • The bell — a number means somebody is waiting on your answer; a dot means something new to read.
  • Your account picture — opens the menu with All notifications, Your profile and Family & sharing.

What some updates say

  • Your partner's changes — once you plan together, a daily note such as "… changed Rent in Dubai today." when they change a shared row or one on your side, with See your plan.
  • What changed since your last visit — how much your plan moved, split into market prices, exchange rates and changes you made.
  • One-time explanations — for example, that money marked as your emergency fund is now held apart, with a button such as See your ladder.

Invitations can be answered right in the bell: Accept (or Review and join for a partner) and Decline…, which also offers "Don't send me invitations from … again".
