How do I share my plan with someone?

In Family & sharing, press + Add a person, choose who they are, enter their email and choose what they see. They get a link valid for 14 days and can only ever look.

You can invite a parent, another relative, your lawyer, your Chartered Accountant or a trusted friend to view your plan. They sign in with their own account, see only what you choose, and can never change anything. Sharing is done from Family & sharing.

Inviting someone

  1. Open Family & sharing and press + Add a person.
  2. Under Who are they?, pick a family relation or, under Someone who advises you, Lawyer, Chartered Accountant or Trusted friend.
  3. Type their name and email. For somebody who advises you, also give their age and how you know them.
  4. Read They will see: — the default for that role. Press Change what they see to choose plan by plan and section by section.
  5. Press Send invitation for somebody who advises you, or Add and invite … for a family member. On a plan you share with a partner who has joined, the advisor's button reads Ask for approval instead, and either kind of invitation waits for your partner.

They receive one email with a link that works only for their address, for 14 days. A family member already listed on your plan has an Invite button on their row in the People table.

The app’s own People table and its own words. Roles stand where names would be: nobody here is a real person. Anyone invited can only look — never change a figure, never read a conversation with Niv.

The People table with roles in place of names: a partner who has joined, a parent who accepted, a Chartered Accountant awaiting approval, a friend whose invitation was sent, and a brother not yet invited.

  • + Add a person — for anybody not yet listed.
  • Access — each person's state in a word, here Joined, Accepted, Pending approval, Sent and Not invited.
  • The line under the word says the rest, such as when the link stops working.

Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.

What each role sees by default

  • Someone who advises you sees everything, on every plan.
  • A family member sees the Family plan only. On a plan with no partner, the Family plan is your plan, so they see all of it.

Managing it afterwards

  • Resend — a fresh link, good for another 14 days.
  • Withdraw — the link stops working.
  • Change access — see more or less. Less applies straight away; more may need your partner's approval.
  • Remove access — they stop seeing anything from their next click, and they are told. You can invite them again later.

See this in your own plan.
