How do I change my password or the way I sign in?

In Your profile, under Ways to sign in: Change password (needs your current one), Set a password if you use Google, or Connect Google. It is always one account.

You can sign in to Nivritee with Google, with your email and a password, or both. Either way it is one account per email address — the same plan whichever way you come in. Everything is managed under Ways to sign in in Your profile (open the account menu from your picture, top right).

On the profileMeansButton
Google · Connected / Not connectedWhether this account can sign in with Google.Connect Google when not connected.
Password · Set / Not setWhether this account has a password.Change password when set; Set a password when not.

Changing your password

  1. Press Change password.
  2. Enter your Current password, then a New password, then Type the new one again.
  3. Press Change my password.

The new password is checked as you type, and is judged by our server before it is accepted. When it changes, every other device is signed out — this one stays signed in — and you get a security email saying the password was changed.

Adding a password to a Google account

Press Set a password. We email a link to your address rather than asking for a password on the spot: opening the link proves the mailbox is yours, which a session on a shared computer would not. The link works for 1 hour.

Adding Google to a password account

Press Connect Google and choose the Google account. It must use the same email address as your Nivritee account; a Google account with a different address is refused. You get an email when Google is connected.

If you have forgotten your password

  1. On the sign-in page, press Forgot your password?
  2. Enter your email and press Send me a link.
  3. Open the link within 1 hour and choose a new password. Setting it signs you out everywhere else.

The page answers the same whether or not the address has an account, so it never reveals who uses Nivritee. If you signed up with Google, this adds a password to the same account.
