Can my CA or lawyer see my finances?

Only if you invite them, and only what you choose. A Chartered Accountant, lawyer or trusted friend gets read-only access with their own login, and you can remove it at any time.

Only if you invite them. Under Family Finance, you can give a Chartered Accountant, a lawyer or a trusted friend read-only access to your plan. They sign in with their own account, see only what you switch on, and can never change a figure. Nobody else — and nobody at Nivritee — can open your plan.

Inviting them

  1. Open Family Finance and press + Add a person.
  2. Under Who are they?, choose Someone who advises you, then Lawyer, Chartered Accountant or Trusted friend.
  3. Type their name and email, their age and how you know them.
  4. Read They will see: — by default, everything on every plan — and press Change what they see to narrow it.
  5. Press Send invitation. They get one email with a link that works only for their address, for 14 days.

Results are calculated from every section, so they will still show totals for income, spending.

Choosing what a viewer sees, plan by plan: Everything or Nothing, six section switches, and Results.

  • Everything / Nothing — every switch on this plan at once.
  • Ages & assumptions, Investments, Loans, Income, Spending and Goals.
  • Results — the Overview, Portfolio Tracker, FIRE Planner, Freedom Ladder and the FFI score.
  • The warning when Results is on but a section is off.

Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.

What they can and cannot do

  • They can read the sections you switch on, and the results if you switch those on too.
  • They cannot change anything, see your Action Items, read your conversations with Niv, or use Niv on your plan.
  • Switching Results on while a section is off still reveals that section’s totals, and the grid says so.

On a plan you share with your partner

Once your partner has joined, the plan is both of yours, so the button reads Ask for approval and nothing is sent until your partner agrees. Narrowing what somebody sees, or removing them, never waits.

See this in your own plan.
