How do I add my partner to my plan?

Add them under Family & sharing (+ Add a person, then Spouse or partner) or in You & your assumptions. Give an email to invite them to plan together with their own sign-in.

A partner is not a second plan. They join your one plan, every row says whose it is, and the plan menu then offers three views: your plan, your partner's and the Family plan — the two of you together. You can add a partner just to put their figures in, or invite them to plan with you under their own sign-in.

From Family & sharing

  1. Open Family & sharing from the rail (under People) or from the account menu.
  2. Press + Add a person.
  3. Under Who are they?, choose Spouse or partner.
  4. Type their First name, choose the Relationship (Wife, Husband or Partner) and, if you know it, Their age.
  5. To invite them, type their email. They get one email with a link that works for their address only, for 14 days.
  6. Press the button. It reads Add and invite … with an email, or Add … without one.

If you invite them without an age, they give it when they join. Without an email, they are added to your plan and their figures go in their view — you can invite them later from their row in the People table.

From You & your assumptions

The Your family card has + Add your spouse or partner. Fill in the relationship, First name and their age, and they are on the plan. Inviting them to sign in themselves is done from Family & sharing.

An illustrative household: Two adults, 38 and 36, two children, earning in Dubai and settling in Pune. One adult earns; the other does not earn today but holds money of their own. Yours + your partner’s = the family plan, to the rupee.

The household's three views side by side. One adult earns; the other does not earn today but holds money of their own. Yours plus your partner's equals the Family plan, to the rupee.

  • Your plan — only your own money, and your share of anything shared.
  • Your partner's plan — only theirs, entered on their behalf or by them.
  • Family plan — the two of you together, and read-only.

Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.

Filling in their side

Until something on the plan is theirs, Family & sharing says "Nothing on the plan is …'s yet" and offers a short set of questions — whether they earn, their income, spending, savings and loans. Earning and owning are separate questions: a partner who does not earn can still hold savings and owe a loan. If some of their money is already counted inside your own figures, the questions ask whether to move it across, so nothing is counted twice.

See this in your own plan.
