How do I make sure my partner could manage our money if I couldn’t?
Plan together with their own login, so the whole picture is already theirs. Each of you sees the other’s side, every asset and loan is listed, and nothing has to be found or explained later.
The surest way is for your partner to have the picture already, not to inherit a puzzle. In Family Finance — Nivritee’s family finance for couples, with sharing you control — your partner joins your one plan with their own login. From then on they see the same holdings, deposits, schemes, property, loans and goals you do, kept current, in one currency. Already shared, already understood: nothing has to be unlocked, found or explained on a hard day.
Four things to do in Nivritee
- Invite your partner to plan with you. Under Family Finance, press + Add a person, choose Spouse or partner and give their email. They sign in with their own account — there is no shared password.
- Let them see your side. Under “What can … do on your side?”, choose View only or View and edit. A partner who joins can view your side from the start; letting them edit is your choice.
- List everything, not only the investments. Every deposit with its bank, every scheme, property, gold and jewellery, and every loan with its outstanding balance. The plan becomes the one list of what the household has and owes.
- Look at it together. Open the Family plan side by side once in a while, so the figures are familiar before anyone needs them.

The People table in Family Finance, with roles in place of names: a partner who has joined, a parent who accepted, and others at each stage.
- The partner’s row reads Joined: they have their own login to the same plan.
Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.
Someone outside the household, too
You can also invite your Chartered Accountant, your lawyer or a trusted friend to view the plan, choosing exactly what they see. They can never change anything, and you can remove their access at any time. See whether your CA or lawyer can see your finances.
What Nivritee does not hold
Nivritee is a picture of your money, not a safe for documents or logins. It never asks for account numbers, passwords or government ID, and it is not a will. Alongside it, most households keep:
- A will, and up-to-date nominations or beneficiary designations on every account that allows them.
- A power of attorney, where your country has one, so somebody can act for you if you cannot.
- A password manager with a way for your partner to reach it, so logins are not lost with one phone.
See this in your own plan.
