Why do I need to verify my email address?
It proves the account belongs to whoever controls the inbox. Until you confirm it, an email-and-password account cannot open a plan. Links last three days.
Because anyone can type any address into a sign-up form. Confirming it proves the account belongs to whoever reads that inbox, so nobody can set up an account in your name and use it. Until the address is confirmed, an email-and-password account cannot open a plan at all. If you signed in with Google, Google has already confirmed your address and none of this applies.
Why the link asks for your password
If you open the link while signed out — on a different device, say — you are asked to sign in with the password you chose before the address is confirmed (Confirm your email, then Sign in and confirm). That is deliberate. It means a link alone cannot enable an account: someone who registered your address could not get their account switched on by you clicking a link you never asked for.
If you are waiting on the link
Signing in before you have confirmed shows Verify your email to continue. with three buttons:
- I have confirmed it — checks again, once you have opened the link.
- Send a new link — sends a fresh one.
- Use a different account — signs you out.
- Look in your spam, promotions or updates folder. The email comes from account@account.nivritee.com; adding that to your contacts helps the next one land in your inbox.
- Check the address for a typo. If our email could not be delivered, the sign-up screen says That address could not receive our email — use Use a different email and start again.
- If the link has expired, it says so and offers Send me a new link. Links last three days.
A password account that is never confirmed is removed after about a week, so an address someone else typed does not stay reserved. Once you do confirm, a welcome email follows — and, like every email Nivritee sends, it carries no figure from your plan.

Your Nivritee plan has a few things worth a look
Since you were last here, two things came up in your plan: your housing figure looks like it may still be a placeholder, and your day-to-day spending has not been broken down yet.
Sign in to see what each one does to your plan.
- No figure, ever. Not a total, not an age, not the verdict. Mail is forwarded, quoted and indexed; your numbers stay behind your own sign-in.
- Batched, never interrupting. One digest at most, and never while you are in the middle of editing.
The site’s picture of a Nivritee email: it says something in your plan is worth a look, and never what the figure is.
- No figure, ever — not a total, not an age, not the verdict.

Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.
