How is the app laid out?

A menu down the left in three groups — your results, your data, and people — a bar across the top, the page in the middle, and Niv on the right.

There is no fixed order to follow. Every page is one click away in the menu on the left; the bar across the top says where you are and holds the controls that apply everywhere; and Niv sits in a column on the right on a wide screen.

  • The menu, in three groups. Collapse the menu shrinks it to give the page more room; your choice is remembered in this browser.
  • Where you are: the plan, then the section — for example “Your plan / Overview” — with the plan’s country and currency beside it, such as IN · INR.
  • Which plan, and whose view of it — the plan switcher.
  • Whether your work is saved, the notifications bell, and your account menu.
  • The page heading, and the slot that says Plan is up to date. or offers Re-generate my plan.
  • Niv’s column. Where the screen is narrower, an Ask Niv button opens her instead.

The menu

  • Results, first and unlabelled: Overview · Retirement Tracker · Freedom Ladder · Investment Performance · Action Items.
  • Your data: Your Location · You & your assumptions · Investments · Liabilities · Income · Living expenses · Life goals.
  • People: Family & sharing.

A small dot beside Overview (a screen reader announces it as “Out of date”) means a figure the projection reads has changed since you last generated the plan.

The bar across the top

  • The plan switcher — your own plan and, if you plan as a couple, the You, partner and Family views; plus any plan someone has shared with you. See the three views.
  • The save indicator — quiet while all is well; see how saving works.
  • The bell — invitations waiting for your answer, and what has changed.
  • Your account menu — Your profile, All notifications, Family & sharing, Take the tour of this page, Help Centre and Sign out.

Two pages that are not in the menu

Notifications and Your plans are reached from the bar rather than the menu: All notifications from the account menu or the bell, and Your plans from See all plans at the foot of the plan switcher, which appears once a plan has been shared with you.
