How often are prices and exchange rates updated?
Prices are fetched every weekday after each market closes, holdings are revalued nightly, and exchange rates refresh daily after checks. None of this makes your plan out of date.
Prices are fetched every weekday, after each market has closed, so a holding is usually priced the same evening its market closes. Your holdings are revalued every night, and exchange rates refresh once a day. Investment Performance shows the dates it used: Prices as of a date and exchange rates as of a date, under the headline.

When you add a holding
A holding on an exchange, or a US, UK or European fund, is usually priced from the latest stored close in the moment you add it. An Indian mutual fund’s price is fetched just afterwards, in the background, and every new holding’s price history fills in behind it the same way.
Exchange rates are checked before use
- A pegged currency must stay within 0.5% of its peg.
- A currency the European Central Bank publishes must agree with it to within 2%.
- Any other move of more than 10% in a day is held until the next day’s rate repeats it.
- A rate that fails a check is not used: yesterday’s accepted rate is kept.
If a currency’s rate is more than two weeks old, the conversion note names it. If there is no rate at all, those figures stay in their own currency rather than being guessed, and the page says so.
Prices never make your plan out of date
A price or exchange-rate move updates your figures but never marks your plan as needing to be re-generated: only a change to your own figures does that. See why figures change when you changed nothing.
See this in your own plan.
