What is the difference between priced and value-only money?
Priced money is a listed holding with a ledger and a daily close, so it has a return. Value-only money — deposits and typed figures — has a value and no return.
Priced money is a holding you have listed under Investments on a market Nivritee prices: it has a ledger of what you bought and a daily closing price, so it has a value, a gain, a day’s change and a return. Value-only money is everything else you hold — bank and term deposits, scheme balances, gold jewellery, property and any figure you typed into a box. It has a value and nothing more, and the page never invents a return for it.

Not listed: ₹10,00,000 typed as one figure — counted in the plan, with no return to read until it is listed.
Listed holdings, one row each, with value, gain, XIRR and a 30-day line. Beneath, a figure typed as one amount is counted in the plan with no return to read until it is listed.

How the page keeps them apart
- The headline rate and the chips describe priced holdings only. Everything you hold, on the right, includes both, with the share priced daily underneath.
- What you hold, by type splits its cards into Priced daily and Value only, the second labelled no return to read.
- The table’s Valued at column says, for each row, last close, stale close, what you paid or value only.
- The Priced daily reading scores how much of your money a market prices: a reading about this page, not about your investing.
Moving money from value-only to priced
- Go to Investments.
- Under Market investments, use + Add a holding for each fund, ETF or share you own, with its units, price paid and date.
- If the typed figure in the same card already included what you have now listed, reduce it by that amount. Both are counted, so a holding listed on top of a box that still includes it is counted twice — the card shows the sum and offers to reduce the box.
- Come back to Investment Performance: the priced share, the return and the readings sharpen on the next reading.
