How do I add a stock, ETF or mutual fund?
Press + Add a holding, choose the kind of investment and where it is listed, search for it, and enter the units and the price you paid. It is then priced every weekday from the exchange’s close.
List it under Investments → Market investments → Listed holdings. Once added, a holding is valued at its latest close every weekday and shows a gain and a return. You type it once; there is no broker login and no statement upload.
- Press + Add a holding.
- Under What kind of investment, choose one — for example Direct stock, Equity ETF, Index fund, Equity mutual fund, Debt mutual fund, Gold ETF or Sovereign Gold Bond.
- Under Where it is listed, choose the market. Only markets that can price that kind of investment are offered.
- Start typing in the Symbol box (or Scheme code, Ticker or ISIN, depending on the market) and pick your investment from the suggestions.
- Enter How many units, the Price you paid, per unit and When you bought it.
- Press Add holding.

The currency comes from the market — a holding on NYSE is in dollars, converted into the plan’s rupees.
The add form: what it is, where it is listed, which one, and what you paid.
- What kind of investment.
- Where it is listed.
- Symbol — search and pick from the suggestions.
- How many units, and Price you paid, per unit.
- When you bought it.
Illustrative figures — not anybody’s real plan.
Markets you can choose
NSE, BSE, Indian mutual funds (AMFI), NASDAQ, NYSE, the London Stock Exchange, US mutual funds and UK & European funds. You can hold any mix in one plan; each holding is converted into your plan’s currency before anything is worked out.
Things worth knowing
- The currency is the listing’s, not yours to choose. A London listing quoted in pence is read as pence. The form tells you which currency the holding is priced in.
- Don’t remember the price? Leave it empty. The holding is still priced; only the return is missing until you fill it in.
- Not in the suggestions? You can still add it. The row is then valued at what you paid until a price is available, and says so.
- An individual bond is counted at what you paid — no feed prices individual bonds. A bond ETF or a debt fund is priced daily.
- More purchases, sales, splits or bonus units go in the row’s Lots & edits button.
