How do I say when an income or cost starts or stops?
Open Where & when on the row and choose when it starts and ends: now, when you move, when you stop working, at an age, or (with a partner) at their milestones. Loans have their own Paid off choice.
Every income and expense row has a small Where & when button under it. Open it to say which country the row belongs to, when it Starts and when it Ends. Once set, the button shows a summary in place of its name — for example a country and ends when you move.

- Where — the country this row belongs to.
- Starts — Now, When you move, At an age, and your partner’s milestones if you have one.
- Ends — Never, When you move, When you stop working, At an age, and your partner’s milestones.

The choices

| When you stop working | An end choice: the age you reach independence. |
| At an age | Asks for Starts at your age or Ends at your age. |
| When your partner stops working | Offered when the plan has a partner, with their age options. |
| Never | An end choice: the row runs to the end of the plan. |
Defaults worth knowing
- Salary and bonus rows start out ending When you stop working; change it here if yours does not.
- An Other income row has a tick box, Keeps paying after I retire, for rent or a pension that carries on after you stop working.
- A loan has Paid off instead: When the payments end, When I move, or At an age.
Common mistakes
- Choosing At an age and leaving the age empty. The row says Enter the age in its Where & when.
- An end before the start. The row says This ends before it starts — check its Where & when.
- Timing a row by your partner when the plan has no partner’s age. Add their age, or choose another time.
