How do I enter gold and jewellery?
Physical gold, silver, coins and jewellery you would count as savings go under Metals & jewellery. Gold ETFs and Sovereign Gold Bonds are market investments and belong in the listed holdings table.
Under Investments, Metals & jewellery is for physical gold and silver — jewellery, coins, bars. The section’s own hint says what belongs there: what you would genuinely count as savings rather than as things you wear.
- Choose what it is from What is it? — for example Physical gold, Gold jewellery or Silver.
- Enter its Value today: what it would fetch if sold, not what it cost.
- Press + Add another to keep different things apart, such as jewellery and coins. The section becomes a table once it holds more than one row.
Gold that is an investment product
Gold ETFs and Sovereign Gold Bonds are market investments. Add them with + Add a holding under Market investments, choosing Gold ETF or Sovereign Gold Bond, where they are priced daily. The metals section says so too, and if you already have some listed, it tells you how much is counted there rather than here.
Nothing nets one against the other. Nivritee never offers to reduce your jewellery figure by the value of a gold fund — a fund is not part of your bangles.

Deciding what to count
- Count gold you would be willing to sell to fund your life.
- Leave out pieces that will never be sold — heirlooms you intend to pass on. Counting them makes the corpus look larger than the money you could actually spend.
- Value at today’s price for the metal, less what selling would realistically cost.
See this in your own plan.
